Sully and I travel…A LOT…so to protect my investment in my beloved Subaru Crosstrek, I found a wonderful “hammock” for my dog’s assigned section of the car. It protects the seats from dog hair and all kinds of dirt, and although it isn’t officially waterproof, it does a pretty good job of deflecting that, as well.
The “Good2Go No Fur Zone” Seat Cover Hammock fit our needs perfectly. I have tried other less expensive hammocks, but the backing peals off and makes more of a mess than the dog hair would have! This seat cover also has stronger clips and commercially sewn seams. In fact, we’ve had this particular hammock for over a year with absolutely no problems. I was purchasing less expensive ones every three or four months because the clips were breaking and the backing was coming off.
The Good2Go hammock has some quilting on the section that sits on the bench seat, giving some padding for your pooch, and it even has a pocket hanging between the front seats for easy access from the driver or passenger…just don’t store Fido’s treats there, as I’m sure he would be tempted to steal a few!
The seat cover is very easy to install and hangs from each headrest in the car, with adjustable clips to let the hammock hang looser or pull it right up to seat height, if you prefer. We leave ours a little loose, as Sully likes to hang his head between the seats and enjoy air conditioning (I know, he’s spoiled to the max!). There are slots to allow you access for seatbelts and attaching your dog’s harness, as well.
For those of you who would prefer a seat cover that goes to the floor, rather than hanging from the front seat headrests, Good2Go also makes a “Quilted Bench Cover.” We opted for the hammock, because it does a much better job of keeping dog hair and dirt on the cover, and not on the floor!
I’ve looked around online and found the Good2Go No Fur Zone Seat Cover at a few different places, but it seems to be sold out at several locations. So the only store I’ve dependably found them at is Petco. As you can see by the product picture, the in-store price is $49.99, but you can get them through Petco’s website for $37.49 right now! Grab yours before they’re all gone!
